I may have mentioned this but I used to be a psychiatrist and as such Christmas was not often a blessed event. In fact I couldn’t wait for it to come and go. Boxing Day was the worst. The ER would be full of the tail end of drunken rages and crying jags. Masses of people who, 5 days before being descended upon by every relative they’ve ever known, decided to abruptly discontinue the chemicals that support sanity. One year I consoled a poor woman who had a black eye from being whacked in the face by her sister who apparently wields a mean drumstick.
But this year peace and goodwill toward women ruled my holiday in Strasbourg, the “Capital Of Christmas” and I’m telling you not even the dreary weather could dampen my spirits however the rain did limit the picture taking. But I think you’ll get the idea …
And that my Finders is how they do it in Strasbourg, not bad hey? I have never seen so much work go into a holiday in my life. You may have noticed that I said not a word about food. I’m still too full to talk about it. Next time. I hope your holiday was as merry and bright as mine.

Wow. Thats where I want to be next Christmas. (instead of deathly ill under a comforter watching old movies on TCM)
Oh Oma, I hope you feel better soon.
Bonjour Bobbi,
What a beautiful place to spend Christmas and will add that Strasbourg. We are France lovers as well. This year we will be enjoying baguettes and wine for 5 weeks in the south of France (escaping Nova Scotia’s winter). All the best in 2012.
missing in my statement above is ” …..and will add Strasbourg to our wish list”.
(Sorry, typing in the dark in bed!)
Strasbourg is a must see. I love that you’re lounging in the dark. I hope you are eating chocolates as well.
It’s like eye crack……I had to enlarge the window boxes to check them out.
We got a neat gift idea from BIL….the Living Water Gift Card….it’s like a gift card and you go to the site and select which country you want the water to go to. Great idea for all of us who really need nothing.
Beautiful Bobbi, thanks for sharing!
Christmas Blessings from Newfoundland Bobbi.
Those pictures are a treat to the eyes. After I write this I have to show my 9 year old daughter….and then I might look again later.
Although you would never know it, I have followed your blog regularly and at times your posts have put so many things in the right perspective.
Felt I had to send a message this Christmas season because your courage and drive inspire me.
Look forward to your book!! I will be taking it off the shelf and swiping my card for sure! Blessings to you and Mr. Red. I can tell he makes the perfect mate!
Thanks AnnMarie! Many blessings to you and your family…
XO
Bobbi
Very impressive, indeed. I can’t even find the strength to change a light bulb. I love those bears climbing out of the windows in that last picture. Beautiful.
Beautiful photos—and not a single familial drumstick in sight.
I’m glad you had a light-filled, stress-free holiday. Can’t wait to hear about the food!
That is breathtaking. A vast improvement over the E.R.
Absolutely beautiful! Thank you for sharing these pics. Can’t wait to hear about the food. (-;
Merry Christmas and all the best in 2012!
How gorgeous. It makes me happy to think of you and Neil being surrounded by all that holiday goodness.
Gorgeous photos, Bobbi. I’m so glad that you celebrated Christmas away from the ER and in such a peaceful part of the world. Wishing you and Neil many blessings in the New Year.
It looks like a fairyland with so many lights… glad you had a good Christmas. All the best in 2012.
I was in Burgundy at the beginning of one Christmas season and it was the most magical thing ever. Someday I will make it back to spend all of December traveling to see all the towns’ displays. Beautiful and whimsical.
Gorgeous! Sounds like you had lovely walks under the lights. Best wishes for continued bliss in 2012 xcat
Wow. What gorgeous pictures – Gives me a warm fuzzy feeling that only Christmas can. :D
